The Apapa Command of Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) and Department of State Service (DSS), have discovered and seized Captagon Pills, hard drugs concealed inside cylinder of an imported machine in Apapa Port, Lagos.

the Public Relations Officer (PRO), of Apapa Command, made this known.
According to him , the discovery made in a joint operation by the three Agencies lasted about a week, following intelligence and painstaking dismantling of the machine involved, deploying service personnel and sniffer dogs
The security sources at the port also said, the seizure is a fallout of renewed synergy and cooperation aimed at curbing any form of port related disorder
To ensure success of the operation,
Comptroller Malanta Ibrahim Yusuf, Area Controller of Apapa Command, Mr Samuel Bashir Gadzama , Commander of NDLEA in Apapa and Officer in charge of the DSS, at the port were said to be at the lead.
Further dismantling of cylinders in machine is on-going. The operation, which involved heads of the three services will be sustained in the fight against all forms of smuggling and infractions.
One suspect was arrested in connection with the seizure, while further examination and counting are on-going before more details will be revealed
Heads of the three services warned that
the long-term use of drug leads to remarkable side effects. The most common of them are extreme depression, lethargy, sleep deprivation (insomnia), occasional palpitation, heart, blood vessel toxicity and malnutrition .
It is further linked as one of the most notorious stimulants being taken by insurgents.
