High Chief Iju Tony Nwabunike

It was a moment of encomiums, as the National President, Association of Nigerian Licensed Customs Agents (ANLCA), Hon. Iju Tony Nwabunike, buried his beloved Mother in grand style.
The burial programme, which commenced with Service of Songs, at her residence, Late Chief Jonny Okafor’s compound, Ezenwelike village, Ukunu- Eziora, Ozubulu Local Government Area of Anambra State, culminated in a Requiem Mass at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Ukunu- Eziora, Ozubulu, after which Mama Adaobi Nwabunike was finally laid to rest, and reception followed immediately.
The reception was a gathering of who-is-who in the society.
It was a big celebration all through, as friends of Tony Nwabunike, top government functionaries, frontline politicians, captains of industries, freight forwarders, stakeholders in the maritime industry and members of ANLCA turned out in large numbers.
Even the maritime media was well represented, as maritime Journalists from various associations, all the way from Lagos, gathered in Ozubulu Community, all for Mama Adaobi.

The ceremony was the best of its kind, as different groups sang and danced in honour of Mama Adaobi Nwabunike, who departed this world at 91 years.
Mama Nwabunike, popularly called Iju Wagon, was born on March 30, 1930, into the family of Chief and Mrs. Michael Obi Chukwuma of Umuegbuezi Quarters, Ogbe Oduah, Aboh Kingdom, Ndokwa East L.G.A. of Delta State. She was the first daughter of her parents.
She was a devoted Catholic, who contributed immensely to the growth of the church in her community. Her hard work and enormous contributions were highly acknowledged, as she was awarded the prestigious title of ‘Nneora’(Mother of Multitude) in appreciation of her outstanding achievements.
