Customs Brokers, Freight Forwarders are economic care-givers -Says ANLCA President
* Felicitates with Muslims on EID EL KABIR celebration

The National President, Association of Nigeria Licenced Customs Agents (ANLCA), Iju Tony Nwabunike, has described Customs Brokers and Freight Forwarders in Nigeria as economic care-givers supporting the Federal Government on national development.
According to him, “Customs brokers and Freight Forwarders contributed immensely to the realisation of over N500b half year revenue collection by Nigeria Customs Service (NCS).”
Mr Tony Nwabunike, made these assertions in his goodwill message while felicitating with Nigerian Muslim Customs Brokers and Freight Forwarders on the occasion of EID EL KABIR celebration.
He said, ‘My Brothers and Sisters in Islam, I warmly greet you all on this year’s occasion of Eid El Kabir celebrations, which comes with very symbolic messages capable of reinforcing your faith in the Almighty Allah and strengthen your beliefs in His unseen but felt helping hands at all times.
“Your sacrifices, which symbolise total obidience to our Creator’s directives ,have become acceptable standards as exemplified by Prophet Ibrahim, who moved to sacrifice his son without querying Allah until an alternative sacrifice was provided.
“Most of you have shown love for our country and the maritime, aviation, general transport and total logistics industries through selfless commitment to our Importation dependent economy, by being out there working as essential service providers even in the face of lockdown in the wake of the Covid19 pandemic.
“You have kept the economy moving, contributing to government revenue, helping to sustain employment and keeping the cycle of commerce moving while abiding by safety precautions, as advised by National Center for Disease Control (NCDC)’.
“We ensured goods arrived importers warehouses after exiting our ports through seamless logistics.
“Our professionalism and excellence in the face of logistics constraints like bad roads, suspended rail services for cargo movement, unfriendly and exploitative practices by shipping companies, as well as terminal operators truly stands us out as economic caregivers.”
“We have roles to play in helping Nigeria realise expected Gross Domestic Product (GDP), of $250billion by the end of 2020. Let us keep our eyes on the ball.
While joining the world to celebrate this feast of sacrifice and selfless giving, let us not lose our guard against the Corona Virus that has altered our global economy, religious orders and social lifestyles .
