Anti-smuggling strategies: DC Makinde tours North Western Marine Command
.Says hard time awaits smugglers on waterways

The Acting Customs Area Controller (CAC), of North Western Marine Command, Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), Deputy Comptroller Bamidele Makinde (fsi) has embarked on a familiarization tour of his Areas of Responsibility (AOR), in order to reposition the Command for greater productivity.
He made this known to Daily Business Update, through the Public Relations Officer (PRO), of the Command, Mr Saidu Nuruddeen Abdullahi.
DC Makinde while addressing officers at Yelwa-Yauri and Dole Kaina out-stations during the tour explained that the newly created Command with headquarter in Lokoja, Kogi State is charged with the responsibility of protecting Nigeria’s territorial integrity at the North Western Marine end of the country.
He mentioned some of the areas of coverage to include Yelwa-Yawuri, Lolo, Dole Kaina, Gumbi, Toro, Tsamiya, Tunganleda, Gaffara, Wara and Zamare.
His assertion, “The Command will re-strategize by positioning the out-stations to better combat the threat posed by daring smugglers.
“The anti-smuggling operations will be reinvigorated to ensure that illegal routes around the waterways are effectively manned.”
The Acting CAC encouraged all officers to remain steadfast and diligent in the discharge of their duties, adding that they must work tirelessly to complement effort of the Comptroller-General of Customs (CGC), Ali Hameed, in sustaining the tempo of total compliance with the fiscal policies of Government.
