Stakeholders, officers commend Comptroller Uba on anti-smuggling drive

Seme Customs handing over the seized drugs to NDLEA:
Stakeholders in the maritime industry, as well as top officers of Seme Area Command, Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), have commended the Customs Area Controller (CAC) of Seme, Comptroller Mohammed Uba, for strengthening their operational strategies against smuggling at the border.
Daily Business Update gathered that Comptroller Uba and his men are working tirelessly to curb activities of illicit traders at Seme, the border between Nigeria and Republic of Benin.
Thus, their efforts are paying off and this can be seen in the number of seizures recorded within the last four months, even on increased revenue generation for government within a short period.
For instance, the renewed operational strategies at the Command brought about the recent seizures of 43 parcels of Cannabis Sativa, popularly known as Indian Hemp, intercepted by Seme Customs patrol team led by SC. Isah Adamu, and 56 rolls of tramadol, intercepted by another patrol team of the Seme Customs, led by Salihu S K. through intelligence.
The items, which have been handed over by Seme Customs to officials of NDLEA include 67 rolls by 10 packets, 9 packs (225mg each) of tramadol, 56 rolls by 5 packets (200mg each) of tramadol and 43 parcels of Cannabis sativa.
