Customs at Seme, Benin Republic to implement single outlet at border

Comptroller Uba and other officials at the inspection programme:
The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), Seme Area Command and Benin Republic have concluded plans to implement ‘Single Outlet’, at the Joint Border Post, in order to ensure effective trade facilitation.
The Customs Area Controller (CAC) of Seme Command, Comptroller Mohammed Uba, made this known in a chat with Daily Business Update.
According to him, “Closure of all outlets, except a single entry and exit at the joint border post is very important at a busy border like Seme. This is also a decisive stand that we have taken to enforce Customs International law on transit cargoes.”
Comptroller Uba who is known to be very proactive in his official assignments said, “Our decision on this closure is in line with Customs international law on transit cargoes in the maritime sector. Therefore, we are moving on the right direction.”
To show the importance, the exercise was carried out by Seme Command, officials from Benin Republic and other development partners of the Joint Border Post.
