Seme Customs: No hiding place for smugglers this festive period

Apparently, smugglers trying to sabotage the nation’s economy this festive period will be trapped in Customs net, as Seme Area Command of Nigeria Custom Service has stepped up patrol surveillance in the entire border, including the creeks and bush paths within the area.
The Customs Area Controller (CAC) of Seme Command, Comptroller Mohammed Garba Uba, disclosed this, warned strictly that, there is no hiding place for smugglers this December in Seme.
Speaking further on the measures put in place by his Command to curb the menace of smuggling this yuletide season, which is a period of increased commercial activities, the CAC explained, “The Comptroller-General of Customs, (CGC) Ali Hameed has mobilised us adequately with operational tools for the job, therefore, we are on top of the game. We are well equipped for the task”.
He added, “We are also reinforcing our patrol teams along the creeks and bush paths to ensure that our territory is well covered”.
His words, “Aside from that, at Seme Command now, we have drawn up extra intelligence to contain the situation this festive period.
For instance “I am on ground 24 hours. That is not all. The DC enforcement and other enforcement officers are strategically positioned at the border, to ensure that no stone is left unturned, especially this particular period of the year.
