Fortune Club International celebrates induction in grand style

The Spring event center, Aguda, Surulere, Lagos, was the beehive of activities yesterday, as Fortune Club International celebrated its15th Fortune Day/induction ceremony in grand style.
The programme, which commenced by 9.am with a dedication service at the Methodist Church, Onikoyi, Aguda, Surulere, moved to Spring event center for well-arranged reception with so much fun, sufficient to eat and drink.
In his opening speech, the President of the Club, Fortune Eyo Inuekin, said that the 15th Fortune Day celebration was unique with the induction of three new members, who are ready to toe the line of philanthropy, in helping the less privileged in the society.
His words, “Today is historic because it marks the 15th Fortune Day event. We celebrate ‘Fortune Day’ every November of the year. Today’s programme is unique because three new members are joining our Club”.
Fortune Inuekin further disclosed that his members are putting measures in place to start building a secretariat for the Club.
In his remarks during the induction exercise, the Chairman, Scholarship Committee, Fortune Club, also the Secretary, Fortune Godwin Akadu, informed, “What stands Fortune Club out is the fact that members are concerned about helping the poor and less privileged to improve their standards of living”.
Akadu stressed, “We would continue to do our best on the aspect of Corporate Social Responsibility, CSR, in giving something back to the society”.
Daily Business Update observed that the programme was well organised with top members of the Club and their associates turning out in colourful attires to mark the Fortune Day.
The special award segment added another colour to the programme. Fortune Eyo Inuekin and the Chairman, Board of Trustees, Fortune Club, Fortune Asuquo Inuikim, were honoured with ‘Gold Merit Award’ by the Co-ordinator, Impact Mission Initiative, IMI, Mr. Cletus Victor Mfon.
In the same vein, Fortune Godwin Akadu and Associate Kokomma Akadu were honoured with Fortune Club family award. Associate Glory Osudueh also smiled home with Fortune Club family award.
The three new members inducted into the Club were, Mr. Ita Umiom, Mr. Ojimmy Iyakakwa, a Chartered Accountant and Mr. Collins Etifit, a professional banker.
That was not all. Another moment of enthusiasm was the cutting of the anniversary cake, as members and invited guests took to the dance floor, making the event a memorable one.
