Comptroller Uba chairing the meeting:
The Customs Area Controller (CAC), Seme Area Command of Nigeria Customs Service, Comptroller Mohammed Uba, is bringing fresh impetus to bear on security measures at Seme border, in order to tackle illegal trade capable of hindering maximum revenue generation for the Federal Government.
He demonstrated this, as he chaired the first Joint Border Security Meeting, JBSM of 2018, which took place at the conference hall, Joint Border Post, Seme, on Friday, September 7, 2018.
According to him, securing the nation’s border becomes imperative to protect the economy from influx of contraband items.
His assertion, “Nigeria Customs Service under the watch of CGC Ali Hameed sees border security as something very important that must be given serious attention, in order to protect the economy from activities of smugglers.
“As such, Customs effort in securing the nation’s borders, especially Seme, is in line with the directive of CGC Ali Hameed, aims at curtailing smuggling of offensive items into the economic environment”.
