Customs at Airport arrests Chinese national
. Seizes pangolin scale, elephant tusks

The Murtala Mohammed Area Command, MMAC, of Nigeria Customs Service ,NCS, has arrested a Chinese National who tried to smuggle wild life parts (pangolin scales and elephant tusks), against the policy of Federal Government on preservation of such items.
The operatives of MMAC swiftly intercepted the items, even as the suspect is currently in Customs net at the Airport.
Credible sources within the Command revealed this news to Business Update, stressed that the operatives of MMAC intercepted the items and apprehended the suspect through their alertness to duty and use of intelligence network during operations.
In a chat with Business Update, at the International Airport on the uncommon seizure, some maritime stakeholders attributed the seizure of pangolin scales, as well as the elephant tusks to effectiveness in operations brought to bear by the current Customs Area Controller, CAC, of MMAC, Comptroller Shoboiki Jayne (Mrs,) Phd. Others said that the CAC has awakened the consciousness of officers under her watch.
It could be recalled that this arrest of a Chinese national with wild life parts by MMAC is coming only few days after the same Command intercepted 180 cartons of pharmaceutical products (Tramadol Capsules), estimated at a monetary value of $181.000.
However, the Command in only one month has recorded tremendously seizures, which include Military hard-wares, hard drugs capable of causing serious health hazards in the country and wild life parts among others.
