The Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command headquarters, Mr. Edgal Imohimi, has paraded armed robbery suspects, murder suspects, cultists, pipeline vandals and many other suspects apprehended by police in Lagos for various crimes.
This is coming only one week after the same Command arrested over 319 cultists, dreaded armed robbers as well as suspects caught stealing goods worth over 10 million from the trade fair complex in Lagos.
Briefing journalists in Lagos, Edgal Imohimi, called on the youths to engage in economic activities capable of enhancing productivity in the State, warning strongly that there is no hiding place for criminals in Lagos.
Giving explanation on how the Police in Lagos is curbing crimes, he said, “Arrest of armed robbers/recovery of arms and ammunition. Based on credible information received, a team of Raider Operatives SCIID, Panti led by ASP Joseph Akingboji, arrested nine suspected armed robbers who have been terrorising Ojo and Okokomaiko areas of Lagos. Items recovered from them include, English made double barrel gun cut to size, locally made single barrel pistol, live cartridge, operational bajaj motorcycle and a large quantity of Indian Hemp.”
Some of the cultists:
“The Police also arrested two notorious groups of hoodlums later identified as Sanusi Soye streets boys who have been disturbing the peace of Itire and its environs, engaged in a free for all fight at Ajegunle-Itire. While the fight lasted, one of the gang leaders, Lanre alias Tiro mobilised some of his group members to 15 Awope street, Itire, and robbed Mr. Eze Uche, an electronic and handsets sealer. The hoodlums made away with 10 pieces of plasma TV of various brands and 25 handsets, all valued over N10million”.
Other cases include, “update on Diamond estate murder, which involved the alleged murder of Barr. Otike Odibi, 50 years by his wife, Barr. Udeme Odibi, 47 years.”

“Investigations revealed that the couple had marital issues bothering on extra-marital affairs. On that day of the incident, the suspect sent a whatsapp message to her sister in-law complaining about her husband, asking her to pray for them, and equally ask God to forgive her. The suspect, Udeme, in her statement confessed to the alleged crime and also called her mother on phone that she had killed her husband. She hit her deceased husband with a frying pan on his head before stabbing him with a knife”.
“The weapon used for the murder has been recovered. After stabbing the deceased on the stomach and seeing the intestines forced out, the suspect did not seek the neighbours assistance, rather, she called her mother who was miles way to reveal that she had killed her husband. The killing is premeditated, as the suspect procured a set of knives with which she used to execute her plan. The suspect had packed all her certificates including O’Level Certificates with all arrangements to travel to the United Kingdom the following morning. The autopsy on the deceased is currently being carried out at LASUTH by a team of pathologists, while the forensic analysis result is being compiled and would be made available to the public later”.
The Police Commissioner went on, “On 04/05/2018 at 0130 hours, the police arrested Segun Bashiru and three other suspects with 18 sacks of Indian Hemp, at Ajidun waterways. Also, a cash sum of N250,000 and two boats used in ferrying the products were recovered from them. The case is currently under investigation.”
Others include a case of suspected murder of Daniel Grant, 50 years, a South African National, initially reported at Maroko divisional headquarters on May 5, 2018, and subsequently transferred to the State CID, Yaba, for discreet investigation. Arrest of over 13 cultists on May 4, 2018 among others cases.
