Massive seizures: CGC Ali gives FOU commendation letter

The Customs Area Controller,CAC, of Federal Operations Unit ,FOU, Zone ‘A’ of Nigeria Customs Service ,NCS, Comptroller Mohammed Uba and the entire Offices of FOU have been given a commendation letter by the Comptroller-General of Customs, CGC Ali Hameed for outstanding performance in anti-smuggling operations.
Business Update learnt that the commendation letter was given to FOU in recognition of its remarkable performance in anti-smuggling activities, which has clearly shown in the level of massive seizures of rice, exotic cars, pangolin scales, textile materials, used tyres vegetable oil and other prohibited items recorded by the Unit.
The most recent seizure that attracted the attention of the top Customs Management in Abuja is the evacuation and detention of 2,086 bags of smuggled rice (50kg each), 231 jerrycans of vegetable oil (25kg each), 69 bags of sugar (50kg each), which took place on Saturday April 17, 2018, at Lafenwa area of Abeokuta.
Signing the Commendation letter on behalf of CGC Ali Hameed, Deputy Comptroller-General Dangaladima A. A. expressed great pleasure on the performance of FOU Zone ‘A’ on its high level of enforcement, as well as increased surveillance within its area of coverage.
His words: “I write to convey the Comptroller-General’s Commendations to your Command for exercising due diligence on the evacuation and detention of 2,086 bags of smuggled rice (50kg each), 231 jerrycans of vegetable oil (25kg each), 69 bags of sugar (50kg each), which took place on Saturday April 17, 2018, at Lafenwa area of Abeokuta”.
